Campgrounds near Chicago/Itasca IL

I'm hoping for some recommendations on good campgrounds near the Chicago area. I might be attending an event in Itasca the beginning of September.

Thanks!

I would suggest you look at the allstays app and also the campedium website, lots of good info and reviews of places.

Enjoy the journey.

I would recommend a web site called Campground Reviews. Here is a link. None in Itasca, but some close by.

Laura, Anita and I have stayed here in the past for weekend getaways. Paul Wolff campgrounds in Kane County last year the rate was $35/day for non-residents, including water and electric. They have a dump station included in the price. They don't take reservations and bring a LONG water hose as the spigot is quite a distance , used 50 feet and it was hanging at both ends. Here is the website, http://www.kaneforest.co/ForestPreserveView.aspx?ID=11

forgot to update this thread; did on the one on Fiberglass RV.

Anyway, I booked at the KOA in Union and will use the metro transit to get into Chicago for the museums and such.

Thanks folks!
