camping help in BC and Alberta

We are planning our first big camping trip in western Canada in our new (to us) E19.
For those of you that camp in the Canadian Rockies, I have a couple of questions:

1. Do you have any recommendations for CG's, preferably low-cost, in and around Jasper and Mt Robson that have good access to hiking trails in early July? Or is it too early in the year?
2. Do you have any apps for locating campgrounds in Canada? In the US, we have found that Allstays or Campendium work pretty well, but I am not sure if they would be beneficial in Canada. Or is it fairly easy to find free camping in the Canadian mountains? I realize there is no equivalent to BLM or Forest Service.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Mt Robson is located in a BC Provincial park.. There is no dispersed camping outside the designated campgrounds. There are two camp grounds at the Mt Robson information area plus a hike in campground at Berg Lake.
Everything should be open in July

Jasper is a National Park and camping is only allowed in designated campgrounds.. There are two large campground with various levels of service right outside the town of Jasper plus another one about 20 minutes drive east of the town of Jasper.

Great place to camp, hike and bike ride

Everything will be open in July with the possibility of some closures in the very high elevation mountain trails

Plan way ahead. I haven't been out west but my friends have. They said book 5 months in advance for southern BC and southern Alberta. Also take stacks of money. Gas is very expensive. $6.25 a gallon give or take.

Yes, gas is expensive, especially in the Vancouver area with extra levies. Not so much once you're out ETI way and beyond. And Alberta is very inexpensive by comparison. The irony is that there's a refinery within sight of Vancouver yet the gas prices are about the highest in North America.

Jasper and Banff are extremely popular. But we did get a nice campsite in Jasper this year. There were enough empty sites that we could even book one adjacent to friends who'd booked theirs a couple of weeks before.

Once you're away from the Jasper-Banff area finding a place isn't all that difficult.
