I grew up hiking (and fishing the creeks!) in SD county mountains, and miss them. We moved to NorCal in '88. We still visit the San Diego area several times a year, but I've been flat-out afraid to drive up there since the devastating fires of '03 and '07 -- it's like my youth burned up. Thanks for posting pictures that show there's still some great places left. I just may screw up my courage next visit and point the car east to the hills.
