Camping in Savannah, GA and Charlston, SC

We are planning a trip to Savannah, GA and Charlston, SC after the Eggscursion Rally (April 14 - 17) in Townsend, TN. We plan to spend about 3 nights in both places. Any recommendations for campsites with electric and water hook up?
Thanks. Tonny LR

In the Savannah area, Rivers End campground on Tybee Island is pretty nice, but it's not cheap.

I'm tentatively planning to take the same route as you after the Eggscursion. In my case I'm going to try to stay at military campgrounds near Charleston and Savannah because I'm eligible. Or I may try to stay at Skidway Island State Park just southeast of Savannah. I've visited there before but haven't camped there. I haven't firmed up my plans yet.

We are doing just the opposite. Spending 5 days in Savannah, and then driving up to Townsend for the rally. Although since we don't have our egg yet, can't help you with campground info. We will be staying in our favorite B&B

We've stayed in James Island County Park in Charleston, excellent park. In Savannah we stayed in both Skidaway Island State Park and Fort McAllister Historic Park, both were very nice. Skidaway being closer to town and more in the woods, Ft McAllister being right on the water. or maybe it's salt marsh, nice but buggy at dusk. Next stay I'll probably do Skidaway again.
