"Chasing Trials" first outing Chasing Trials

This was a planned out 3 week trip heading towards The Mississippi Rally. Well the 1st official "Chasing Trials" trip with The Escape, was educational. Between hand building a house, dealing with aging parents, & losing my best dog Worf to Lymphoma. I have not been in a OB/Rally ring in 11+ YEARS!!!! Splash after 8 yrs of work, is finally 95% over being dog/people reactive. Fog is old enough, went to enough lessons, to enter. 1st ASCA Trial was in KY, was NOT great(at least to me). Q ed OK, but the Judge, way too easy. BUT, very good at telling me all the things I'm SO rusty on, "nice working dogs, all Handler Errors". Wanting to avoid Louisville traffic & tolls bridges, I headed south & crossed at Brandenburg. So I could stop in at Squire Boone's Caverns. Very Nice, A neat, a lot work put in, mom & pop run place. Took the under ground tour. NEAT, Going to do more caverns. The 2nd ASCA Trial in IN, together more, Splash & I got it together once! He was HIT in Obedience from Novice 197. Fog (8 months old), got a 1st in Beg Nov! Judge scores were more on the money! Slowly getting my grove back. Rally, Fog has beat Splash twice! 2 each Titles, with bumper legs. Both Nov Rally, & Nov Ob, & Beginner Nov for Fog. Haven't a clue on when/where next ASCA Trial, can be, as Nationals takes over the country. So plenty of time to work on moving up. Splash doing great, but, I never expected him ever to be able to go Trial, so never did any basics towards Open/UD, as I didn't think he'd ever straighten out. He does NOT pick up things, or retrieve, play with toys, or tug, etc. I will just do Rally with him which is a bigger program in ASCA, than AKC's. Then went to dinner with Photographer, I liked his "Set up", so 1st Titles photos. Off to my Brother's to bury my parents in McGregor IA. My Mother has been "waiting" for 8 years. Then heading Down River, to The Rally.

You might want to break your post up a bit. This one is a challange to read.

Yeah, and the mumbo-jumbo lingo of dog trials is not familiar to me, at all. Incomprehensible, actually.

Plenty of caves in the general area for a visit, and the three I mention have RV camping at or nearby.

Closest, in Iowa:
Maquoketa Caves State Park,

2 hours North in Wisconsin
Blue Mounds Caverns.
Near Blue Mounds State Park and Brigham County Park

Near Blue Mounds (1 hour away?)
Eagle Caves, Blue River, WI

All can accommodate at or nearby your rig.

Nice! We are headed off soon for a dog show/camping trip but just one destination (unless I stop at my sister's on the way). Our regional specialty, though I'm not showing in that, just spectating, and then Fast Cat for the Cardis. (Which for those not into dogs, is kind of like greyhound racing or lure coursing, the dog chases a lure and is scored on speed.)

It's supposed to be a nice spot to camp onsite but I'm not thrilled with non-hookup sites mainly because of the big rigs with generators.
