Deciphering Colorado State Park fees

We need to stay in a Colorado state park close to family for 7-10 days (Cheyenne Mountain) this fall and are trying to decipher all the fees. Do we pay individual daily fees plus daily entrance fees in addition to our camp site fee? Is an annual state park pass helpful in our situation? Thanks!

I’d call the park and ask the questions you have. We have run into this a number of times where we thought that we had to pay both the park entry and the camping fee but didn’t and other places where we had to pay both fees. In Michigan, it was cheaper if we got a season pass rather than buy a daily. In Nevada we didn’t need a park entry fee because we were camping. Same goes for a variety of using the dump station fees. Free to $10 and about dollar increments depending on where. Never paid a dollar but paid 2 through ten except for 7.

I bet someone from Colorado will know how the CO state parks' fees work. Hopefully they will chime in soon.

I've stayed at Cheyenne Mountain State Park several times in the past and they charged me a daily entrance fee in addition to the camp site fee. I haven't been there in over a year so they might have changed their fee structure. It's a great state park.

I did some research on this when I considered renting an RV and touring some western states. Their park fees are separate from camping fees. A valid Colorado State Park pass is required on every vehicle that enters the park. Daily pass fee is $10 and annual is $80. At 8 days you’re at a break even. You decide but it seems like it would make sense to get the annual pass.
