First trip: SE Alberta

We have just returned from our maiden voyage in our 2019 21C. We live in Calgary, Canada. Rather than heading west into the Rockies we decided to go south and east, and not too far from home. We started at Little Bow (that's our very first set-up there in the photo- looks almost like we know what we're doing, but took over an hour to get it in position, levelled etc.!), then on to Writing on Stone, and finally to Cypress Hills. Each of these is quite unique- lakes/reservoir at Little Bow, Hoodoos and rattlesnake plus cultural history at Writing on Stone and rolling hills in the middle of the prairie at Cypress Hills. Really enjoyed the variety of scenery. All are Alberta Provincial Parks, requiring advance on-line booking, but there seemed to be empty spots at all of them.

We had quite the range of weather- from just above freezing at Little Bow to high 30's C (about 100F) at Cypress Hills. One constant was the wind. Except for our last day it was always very windy, only got the canoe out once. Got to test out the furnace and the a/c and both worked well. Didn't quite figure out the setting for "heat strip" on the thermostat though- anyone know?

We did have a few hiccups as well. First we noticed a leak from our dump valve which we got repaired in Lethbridge (Back Country RV- great place and very keen to help us on our way) then on arrival at Cypress Hills we discovered a broken window, probably the result of a long stretch of gravel road we were on. Also did quite a scouring of our foam. We had a close shave at Little Bow as well. My wife looked up to see a driverless mini cooper pass by going backwards, narrowly missing us and the next site and ending up in a bush! It seems the people towing it behind their motorhome unhooked it without applying any kind of braking, and away it went!

Looking forward to our next outing to Banff.

Hi: NoSOD... It's quite certain your number wasn't up!!! Windows OTOH are relatively easy to replace. Alf
