Forum friends
It's always a treat when we are able to meet up with Escape forum friends in the real world. A couple of years ago we met Perry and Terry in Utah, hiked together, shared a campfire and a few tall tales. Today our paths crossed again at the Grand Canyon. Not the greatest weather, VERY high winds but we we were able to get out and see some sights before high winds and sideways blowing sleet/hail sent us running for our trailers. And even though Perry has a Bigfoot now I think he'll always be an Escapee at heart

We had a great time with the Murphy’s last night exchanging stories and another great time today with them traveling the rim and eating out this afternoon. It’s not even 6 pm here and already my thermometer reads 33 F, with a low around 19 tonight.
Yes, I’ll always miss our 5.0 and sometimes question our decision, but since we’d had a 2003 Bigfoot 25RQ in the past and questioned our selling it for a Lance (HUGE mistake!), we always had plans to buy another when I got closer to 80, but that damn pacemaker accelerated that process.
If you think David is a great guy here on the forum, both David and Mary are even more wonderful to be camping/hiking with. It’s an honor to be with both!
Enjoy,
Perry

Wow, how did you recognize Perry without his bike helmet? (Referring to his avatar, of course)

Great to see all of you! Wish you the best with your trip!
If you come towards SLC, let us know - though I'd be cautious traveling North in Utah for a while longer. We have a LOT of snow accumulated in the mountains and there could be flooding in places that haven't known floods before. All depends upon whether the temperatures rise gradually or quickly.
