Gas price
We were paying over $5/ gal. in CA this past month. That was premium at top tier stations.

The highest record average price per gallon ever in Oregon was around $4.30 back in 2008.

Although the AAA average gas price shows today 3.21 in KS, the price here in Leavenworth is 2.97-2.99. I've no idea what it's going to be in MB once we get home next week.
We were considering going to Osoyoos for the rally but reconsidering now, sorry will miss you Jim.

We are $1.82 a litre for regular. Which if I've done the math is $8.30 CAD a US gallon.

Just paid $3.27 in the STL…
From $1.39 about 18 months ago, the lowest I’ve seen in a long long time.
2008 gas had a big increase, soon afterwards life became a little tough.

The Gas Buddy expert said to expect over $1.80 anywhere near Vancouver this summer.
Today our new and improved Kelowna BC Costco opened and with it a Costco Gas station a few blocks away that opened 2 months ago.
The price there is usually 10 cent lower than everywhere else and it is 1.49 today per litre.
For anybody coming or going to the rally via Kelowna with a Costco Membership, it would be well worth your time stopping for fuel. Also being separate from the store it has plenty of room and we have never not been able to drive right up to one of its many pumps.

On Feb 17, 2008 the Dow Jones Index closed at just over 12,000 before tanking to 6,400 in March 2009. Today before the close it is down almost 2% to just over 34,000.
At this same time in 2008 oil was around $89/barrel. Today it's considered high with a Russian invasion of Ukraine scaring markets and it's just over $91/Barrel.
The concerning recent news was that the 30 year fixed mortgage rate is now at the 4% mark. In Feb 2008 it was just under 6%.
I remember as a teenager watching the evening news with my Grandfather when the Dow broke the 2,000 mark. He looked at me and told me to give him $200 of my grass cutting and he would take me to see his broker. Hopefully, this is paying for my high gas prices today.
As I say all the time, "It's all about perspective."

3.80 per US gallon here in central New York. Expect it to be 4.00 or more by Memorial day.
Not much one can do about it. With no regulation the Corporations do what they will.

I hate to see the strain higher prices put on the young folks. This is especially true when nutrition, medicine, and needed socialization opportunities are sacrificed in an either or choice for transportation, utilities, taxes and other necessities. Been out of whack for too long.

what I've paid, May 2019>January 2022
I record the price of all 3 grades at the pump each time I fill-up, usually at the Texaco/Chevron most convenient to me. Attached plot of that data for my daily-driver vehicle, just for grins ...
(I'm always buying 87 Octane 'regular')

I just returned from Orlando, where once again gas was cheaper than it is in the Panhandle. Here it is $3.50 now, in Orlando it was $3.40 or less.

Today, our gas in town, just off the Hwy, is $4.99/gal for regular. Nearby Costco has it for $4.39. Usually there's only about a 10¢/gal difference between Costco and the 'regular' gas stations.

Not a bit, as I'm sure you can afford it better than I could!
