Kokanee Creek Provincial Park

Spent a few days at near Nelson, BC, with most of the time kayaking on Kootenay Lake, near Crescent Bay visiting with vacationing Idaho friends. The Kokanee Creek Provincial Park was terrific! Clean, well-maintained and pretty close to the water. There were, unfortunately, more mosquitoes than we would like but, hey, it's camping!

Then we took Kootenay Lake Ferry to get to the east side to head home.

Here's a shot of the camp spot, with our son's tent in the background, the Escape on the Ferry and the whimsical gnome on the Lake. Karen asked whether she was in Gnomeman's land.

We were there from July 2 through the 6th - saw an Escape parked but no one around. They were from Manitoba so I don't think it was you! Such a beautiful park! Glad to put up the screen room whenever we camp there!

Thanks for this thread!

We are heading that way in early September.
Does anyone know what the forest fire situation is over there ?
We were watching the news about a fire near Nelson
