March KC weather

I'm going to Kansas City the end of March next year to attend an Expo.

Been a long time since I've been up that way in winter. I know it will probably be cold but can anyone from the area tell me generally what to expect?

Also, maybe recommend a campground or two that is open that time of year.

I think by March you will be above freezing, according to their climate history. Also there a couple of nice KOA's in the area. Both in Missouri and Kansas...

March is very unpredictable. Early March typically is in the 40s in the day, teens at night. Some years are milder. Later in the month usually 50s/ upper 20s-mid 30s. We lived in Blue Springs (a KC suburb) for many years and spring weather can run the gamut, so be prepared for anything from very cold to mild! Most campgrounds are closed but Trails West in Grain Valley and Oak Grove KOA are open all year. Both are just east of KC on I70. I believe Crows Nest at Smithville Lake (just north of KC) is open year around. If you are an Elk, the Blue Springs lodge has several full hookups available, nothing fancy but does the trick.

Thanks! I can deal with those temps.
