Missoula - Hiking the M!

Great hike - good for everyone. If you're a little slower, just take your time and drink lots of water. Worth the effort!

Enjoy! Please like and subscribe!!!

I’ve seen it many times but never really had the desire. I worked with a guy who went to the University and if I remember right they had a race up to the M and also had a litter pick up to keep the hill clean.

Oh ya, I was a freshman at UM fall of 64. We had to take buckets of whitewash up the trail (a cow path then) and paint the rocks. Also in those days you had to have 6 quarters of PE to graduate. I think it was wrestling 101 and you chose a partner your same size. Piggy back your partner up the trail...count the steps and switch. The beauty was you only had to walk...make that stagger half way up!!!! Those were the days?

I student taught business in Missoula in 1973 and "got" to hike up to the "M". Unfortunately, I was a Bobcat from Montana State in Bozeman...never hiked it again even when my brother went to U of M and law school.
