A couple more from our Trace drive today. I should probably think more about pictures, but I only snap a few for friends.

We're still a week away from max Fall colors here in Wisconsin.

The northern end had some color. As we’ve gone south, even with the cold snap, it’s still mostly green. Trip planned based on when I have to be at my parents, so we left mid October, and get what we get.

Just hanging out. Washing clothes, checking oil and tires, and relaxing.

No pictures today. Just drove down the trace to a county park on a lake outside of Jackson MS. Barb’s been having ear problems so we went to an urgent doc and got she got a shot and RX. Tomorrow we will explore some more.

Today’s travels on the Trace to milepost 54 I took two or three quick pictures. Tomorrow we relax. Monday we’ll probably explore a little off the Trace. Tuesday we head for Natchez.

That must be where they get those scary Halloween trees.

Lots of swamp places from east Texas to Virginia that look like that.

It’s been so dry we haven’t made campfires. So tonight, we put charcoal in the grill here and had Dutch oven pizza and S’mores.

Off the Trace. Spent the day in Natchez. Took some pics for the forum. Don’t know if I have the cell to post them. Off to Alabama tomorrow.

Lower Trace and Natchez have to wait fir better cell.

Making miles today, so on one of our rare days on the interstate, but I’ll find enough cell to post pictures. The first four are the southern trace. Here are some of the many Indian mounds, remains of an early female academy from 1818, plantation ruins, and the sunken trace 20 feet deep.

Next are a few of the 1780’s to 1850’s buildings from Natchez. They are mostly homes.

These days they're McMansions. New, huge homes, 3-4 car garages, 2 or 3 people living there.
With the economy these days, I may soon be living down by the river, in my van, and E19 if I'm really lucky.

Fort Tolousee / Jackson tonight, and then family around Savannah for a week.

Try Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room in Savanah for a meal experience. 22 years ago we did, so I can't speak with authority on today. But back then, it was a treat.
