Pickup Planning

We will be driving from the East Coast to Chilliwack for pickup. For planning purposes, those of you that have picked up recently, how far in advance were you given a firm pickup date?

Escape had given me a completion date well in advance that they met. When it started getting close, as in going into production, about a month before pickup I told them the date I would pick it up in Sumas, WA.

I firmed this up to be sure about 2 weeks before.

Super smooth processes.

Echo WillyB's experience. Picked up our 21C a month ago, no problems, very smooth.

Last November we informed ETI of the date we wanted to pick-up our trailer from Sumas, using the form on their Delivery Information page. Our date was about 8 working days after the completion date on our agreement.

After we filled that out we got a response saying that they can, "shuffle other deliveries to make that happen."

Although we haven't started making reservations anywhere yet, we are counting on that early April date.

Ditto for us. ETI was helpful and flexible.

Hi, Nan. Setting up our pickup in Sumas last year, it was about four months ahead of time that we worked out a “provisional” delivery date based on Escape’s estimated completion date. They gave us a confirmed completion date about four weeks out, and we revised our delivery date in Sumas accordingly.

Escape advised that we shouldn’t make travel arrangements until they provided the confirmed dates. That was impractical, though, because we planned stays in Yellowstone and Grand Teton that book solid months in advance. We felt we had no choice but to make reservations and hope for the best.

Because of supply shortages our revised Sumas delivery ended up about two weeks later than our provisional date, which totally disrupted our Yellowstone plans. We were able to scramble and get new reservations, so that worked out. (The Great Flood of ‘22 closing down the entire Park when we were just one day from arrival was a real bummer though )

Communication with Escape along the way was frequent and transparent. Although there was the unfortunate slide in our delivery, we were very happy with the folks at Escape who helped us through the process. They are good people.

We picked up last April, and there was a two day slide in our pickup date due to the awning not arriving in time.

We went and visited Vancouver for a couple days, then picked up our trailer and headed straight to a NOG event. It was nice to be around a bunch of other escapees while we were figuring out our new trailer.
