I've mentioned it in other posts, but I always stop at Red Rock Canyon State Park. Dry camping with beautiful sites.

On the Bakersfield to Sedona trip, I recommend Mayflower County (riverside county) Park just north of Blythe. Lovely riverside spot, quiet, nice restrooms and showers. It's 342 miles. Depending on weather conditions and day/time of day, you may want to adjust your route to avoid LA. (58/40 rather than 10)

There is a KOA Journey just off the I5 in Santa Nella. We haven't stayed there but have been by the facility and it's enough off of the interstate to be quiet (and it's close to the Andersen Pea Soup Factory). It gets good reviews and people seem to like it. I would say it's good for an overnight stop.
