I love to boondock and my wife loves to stay at resorts. We are hoping to compromise by taking scenic routes to our resorts and then staying in the resort for a few days before taking the scenic route back home. The difficulty is that we won't be able to keep the RV at the resorts while we are there.
Any ideas for safe RV storage while we are on a trip?
Self storage facilities sometimes have rev/boat storage and they are gated. You might check with one near your destination. They seem to be as plentiful as McDonald’s.
Here's somthing we've done in the past visiting New Orleans. We get 5 days at a park with close NOLA proximity. Fontainebleau SP, Bayou Segnette SP work good. We spend night 1 and night 5 in the camper, nights 2,3,4 at an Airbnb in the Garden District, usually St. Charles St. Catch the streetcar inbound to do the town, or outbound to hop off at any of the happy hours that line St. Charles Street. Superior Seafood is one of our favorites...

Just before the pandemic we took a 2 month trip around the USA, during the trip we took a side adventure to take in the Coca Cola 600 and stay are hotel accommodations in Myrtle Beach, Savannah, and several other historic cities along the east coast. During this side trip we used the secure storage area in the campground in Alabama. Good rate and well secured.
