Has anyone camped (with their Escape, obviously) in the Stanley, ID area in October? We've been planning a trip there, but are noticing most campgrounds close at the end of September. And the historical temperature seems to dip down below 30 most nights. Any input will be appreciated! Thanks all.

Wow! Stanley is the town we stage in when we run The Middle Fork of the Salmon. I have not had my 5.0 up there in October, but I know the area. I had her there in May!
Most things will be well shut down by then. If you get blasted with a snow storm or two, you might be there for awhile. And that place is not like Colorado where snow melts off because of our strong Sun. It stays. The road between Stanley and Sun Valley might be closed by then. But the road to Challis should be open. Do Challis!!! Am I clear on this?
I would watch the forecasts closely and bolt down to Challis Hot Springs at the first flake of snow. Probably before.
The area is special! But we usually cannot get a boat down there until July and it snows often. There is nice camping right outside of Stanley.
