Hi Mike,
I have taken 3 trips to Alaska, two pulling a casita (2000 Toyota Tundra) and once van camping. Roads have always been ok so I would not worry. For your planning get the MilePost an invaluable guide. (Our trip to Yellowknife was not so fortunate. Had to wait a week for Canadian Tire to ship one in but it was a great adventure.) I am ready to plan another trip myself. BajaBum

welcome

Let me be the first to say welcome to our beautiful state! Living in Juneau I just purchased a brand new toytoa tacoma (new cars are not needed here as we are land locked and have to get on a ferry to road trip). So good to hear that we have Lots and Lots of roads to travel as you have. Some remote areas will be hard to get major repairs in - have towing insurance. Otherwise the spare tires sound like a good idea. We are hoping Canada opens up for us to get a good road trip in on Dolly!

Border access is a biggie

The brothers searching Oak Island had to spend two weeks in isolation. I would check with Canadian authorities before going.

Hi, we drove to Yukon, and NWT,pulling a 13' Bolor trailer and up the Demister Hyw with my 2008 Tacoma with two spare tirers and never had a problem. Didn't have to use the spare tiers.

This is transportation advice of another sort, given to me by a friend who used to work up there. She said, "It's expensive. Very Expensive. But if the mountain is out when you are there, take the flight." I took her advice, got lucky with clear skies, and never ever regretted it. A highlight of my life.
