Travel in BC

Good morning, fellow escapers. I am from the Midwest of the US. I will be visiting Banff and Jasper in late July thro the first few days of August. I have the rest of the month to explore BC. I am planning on camping on Vancouver island later in the month. But don’t know what else is a “don’t miss”. Can anyone recommend some good sources for frugal camping. How are boondocking sites located. I have a 5.0 and will be caravanning with a friend and their 24 ft van. Thank you all.

Google both "free camping in BC" and "BC parks and recreation sites."

BC has over 600 Recreation Sites. Many are off road accessible but many are accessible with a trailer. Many look exactly like Provincial Parks. Many are free and others have a low fee.

They're our first choice for places to go in BC, except for places like Banff and Jasper because the nearest rec. site isn't all that close.

At Lake Louise there is a beautiful hike up to a tea house beside the lake. It's about a 45 minute drive from Banff.
