I made reservations to stay at South Liano State Park in November on my way to Arizona. A couple of days before I left on the trip they emailed me that my reservation was cancelled - they decided to have a hunt.

I ended up staying at Pecan Valley RV Park & Farm, an interesting place with chickens running around the campground, but expensive at $42.00 per night (full hookups), at least compared to the state park. My Visit.

Several nice state parks depending on where you are. South Llano River SP in Junction is one of our favorites. Inks Lake State Park is big with a lot of waterfront, near Buchanan Dam, can be crowded on weekends. Garner State Park is also nice.
