But remember, it's not the fall that kills you, it'st the sudden stop.

Here you go...

Goosenecks State Park

I thought I would pass this along to others in the forum. I called Goosenecks State Park (actually Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum, which I assume is nearby) because the Utah state parks website has absolutely no information on camping there other than the nightly fee. This is strictly a boondocking location with a couple of pit toilets, and is first come first served so no reservations. I wished they had at least this much information on their website!

That's right. Strictly loosy goosey first come first served, and no area specifically cleared for a trailer.

Oh, that's Muley Point. No pit toilets there either.

When I was there you have to pay the state park parking fee IF you show up before the gatehouse closes for the night, something like 5 oclock

Goosenecks State Park has a handful of what they call official campsites, in a small paved area near the entrance. But there is a dirt road that proceeds along the rim for a long ways with room for many campers to park, well spread out - that's the area where we were in the photo.

If you go to Sand Island, bring plenty of mosquito repellent. Almost any time of the year. They are out in 35° weather! and hungry!
