Many thanks to you then, John. I saw your pic here on the forum & immediately inked in some time here on my itinerary. The scenery may be a bit rugged for some tastes, but it's totally speaking to me. I'd assumed that this would be my one & only trip to NL, but will come back if at all possible - 12 weeks just isn't going to be enough! Best to you.

Another NL location we highly recommend is Fogo Island, and specifically the village of Tilting. Our avatar photo was taken on an abandoned wharf in the town of Tilting. Local citizens are friendly and have much interesting information to share. This "out our back window" photo, is from the wharf in Tilting.

I think that your original posts about NL inspired much of my trip plan; Fogo is next up, & I have a note about the abandoned wharf in Tilting. Thank you again!

BTW, my daughter is the orchestra teacher at Hutchinson HS, her husband starts in the McPherson schools this fall, & they're living in McPherson; I'm in your neck of the woods to visit them a couple of times a year.

Hated to leave this spot after 3 days of enjoying this view out my back window. It's the municipal park by the John Cabot statue just below the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse. The first evening there, I watched whales for several hours while pottering around in the trailer. I am truly blessed.

Nice spot Lorraine. We missed that one. Camped instead 3 nights at Elliston Beach. Saw our only whale there.
