I have also seen wild horses up in the Northern portion of the park as well as mountain goats. Great dark skies there also!

Seeing feral horses come from domestic stock, they do look a lot like domestic horses.

Here in Alberta, about 20 years ago, there was a major culling of feral horses near Suffield, which is a Canadian Forces Base. Some folks adopted but most had to be put down. A lot of the problem was because folks would release their unwanted horses there instead of dealing with their disposal in other ways.

Yup. It's just south of Hot Springs, SD. Here is a link. Two years ago, the offered tours but the current web site says that they no longer do that.

Angostura Recreation Area has a couple of campgrounds. I stayed in the Horsehead Campground and found that it is EXCELLENT.
