12v (cigarette plug style) LED floodlight? Durable.
Hi all
Does anyone own (or have a link to) a plug and play 12v (cigarette plug style) LED floodlight? Durable.
I do NOT want a rechargeable thing.
I do not want a spotlight
I am after a rugged 12v floodlight
That plugs into cigarette lighter.
I did a bunch of searching and found the light stick kind
But would love a work light - with feet - or similar.
Floodlight.
Not solar not rechargeable
One function device
Thanks

Here's one that seems to be what you're looking for. 12 Volt plug, just a floodlight. Has a magnetic base so you can stick it on your tow vehicle as well:

Northern Tool's website says that product is discontinued, but offers a magnetically-mounted alternative which is LED:

In that case, how about this one? Has a stand, and works with either 12V or 110 AC power:

I'm curious. What is the purpose of this flood light?

I was thinking just the opposite, like the Bat Light.

Heya
We are going to have exterior curb / rear / driver side lights, all up high, all 3 on one inside switch (thanks Donna D for the great idea!)
but if i am in a situation that I want to light up an area but not the whole perimeter, then a 12v flood would be handy.
we'll have 12v exterior outlets on both sides, exterior.

Our exterior lights are on separate switches and we can turn any or all on in about two seconds. No need for another light. If you think you will only need one on for something as we do, the separate switches did not cost that much.

I am pretty sure that would prefer to have 3 perimeter lights on 1 switch
plus a hand held.
just my style.
However..... your suggestion IS making me think.... could be very handy.
thanks

I believe each exterior light installed has a switch or if not, ETI will install one if asked. With one interior switch, I was able to turn on all the exterior lights and then turn off the ones not needed. You may also want to ask for amber lens on the lights if you prefer those over the clear lens.

All this talk of flood lights and multiple lights on Escapes has me scratching my head a bit wondering why. I see no reason to fear the absence of light and treat the darkness as another world waiting to be explored. When I camp, I like to go to remote areas to get that feeling of being away from the great masses of people in the cities. Having my trailer parked in a dark camp spot where I can experience the stars in the night sky is part of that remote experience. Having a trailer lit up like a Christmas tree or a watch tower in a prison camp just doesn't do it for me. To each their own I guess, however, if you go the Christmas tree approach with your Escape, please be considerate of the 99% of other campers around you who don't want or need to experience your lights.

Why have switched lights?
Because occasionally, for a few minutes, one might want a flood light
Like when you arrive late and you are setting up in scrub, and there are bushes. And rocks.
Not on a campsite, but way off the grid.
Yes I will be considerate of others
No I won't ever leave them on when not in use.
Don't worry.

Some folks have a good reason to have the exterior lights available, doesn't mean they will have them on 24/7, at least one would hope not. Traveling the country staying who knows where, there have been a couple instances where I would have kicked them on had they been available.

Ever see one of those Xmas tree semi-trucks going down the highway with 2-300 LED's all a glowing? If I could I'd leave my exterior lights on while towing and off once I set up camp. Better to be seen at night on the highway.

I quit towing at night more than ten years ago. Shoot, I don't even drive at night unless it's unavoidable. It's one of those concessions I've made to my age and I really don't feel all that bad about it. In fact, it's a relief when considering the state of our highways and drivers on the road. I'm also one of those people, when towing, that will leave "even" earlier rather than speed to get to a destination. (I would imagine there's some of you that are thinking... thank goodness we're not all the same. )
