21 Battery Location
Picking up a 21 in April 2016. Hopefully someone that has the dual 6Volt batteries can tell me where they are located? Are they under one of the dinette seats, under the bed or front storage box?
Thanks!

Passenger side, just aft of the stovetop/oven under the dinette seat and as forward as they'll go under there.

In that storage area I have seen them orientated side by side or end to end, not sure if one prevails over the other or if it depends on options you may also have in that storage area. Pros and cons to both methods.

I bought the bigger single 12V battery as the option includes the larger box that is used for the dual 6v batteries should I choose to go that route later down the road. It would not hold 6V batteries end to end.

A recent discussion - What is this battery piece? - shows both Paul's battery box (which I believe is located as Charlie described) and Cathy's (Floating Cloud) box, which is located against the back wall (still under the dinette, but I believe it's a U-shaped dinette). Both have dual 6V batteries. Cathy's box has the batteries end-to-end and fits at the back but would not fit well in the other location.

Our 21, Evergreen II, has the U shaped dinette and the two 6 batteries are located in the back wall seat on the passenger side in the white box side by side.

The reason I asked is that I posed the same question to Escape Sales a couple of weeks ago and was told that the batteries go in the front storage compartment. However, that didn't jive with what I'd already read / seen on this forum.
Thanks for the answers, much appreciated.

They go in the front storage box on a 19'. Maybe the person you were talking to at Escape was confused about whether you were talking 19 or 21?

The duel 6v batteries on my recently pick up 21 are in the farthest rear corner of the passenger side under the U-shaped dinette, placed side by side in a rectangular sealed and vented to the outside box. The batteries are almost against the back wall and run parallel to it.
I'll send a photo if you like.

We visited ETI last November, and then again when we picked our 17 in Sept. this year. One of things we noticed was a lot more office staff this year. Maybe they were on board last year and out of sight, but our opinion is that, with ETI's growth and plans for expansion to the front building, there are a lot of new staff members, with a variety of 'institutional knowledge' levels. This may explain the variety of information disseminated.

In addition each build may require a slight change, all at ETI's discretion.

Craig, could you post pictures showing your battery location? Did you request them in the rear corner? seems like a better location to me. In talking with ETI today I was told the batteries would be in the pass. side rear dinette! Kevin

Because they're in a sealed battery box and there's a vent to the outside, placement of the batteries may depend on that and where the running lights and awning arm are on the exterior.

Thanks Craig, pics are very helpful. Do you have 2 solar panels on the roof? Also is the battery switch a standard item? That looks good also. Kevin

I have 2 160 watt solar panels. The battery switch installed by ETI is a toggle mounted near the converter/power center. What you see in the photo to the right of the batteries….is my "after market" solar controller and inverter, the red battery switch you see only shuts off the power comming from the solar panel to the controller.

Looks like they put the dual 6V batteries under the rear dinette cushion (u-shape dinette) vs. the curbside side dinette cushion. That makes for more storage. The rear cushion storage access is fairly difficult. Glad to see the change there.
