Bathroom Sink Delete

Is this something Escape will do? The bath is smaller than the one in our Scamp. We were thinking of doing without the sink to have more room to turn around. The one in our trailer now seems to get in the way. Has anyone done this?
Thanks Ken

I think they have done this in the past...but things have changed. Your best answer will be directly from the factory.

Ken: FWIW/FYI, ETI agreed to delete the bathroom sink, all the shower components, all the associated holes in the bathroom walls, and terminate the hot/cold waterlines in the adjacent kitchen cabinet on my 5.0 build sheet confirmed 4/22/2021 for trailer completion in August.

Recognize that the components ETI uses require the sink/sink faucet to provide the shower - if you don't want the sink but do want a shower you'll have to make alternate shower valve arrangements. I did not ask ETI if they could provide those alternate shower provisions absent the sink, I will be taking care of that myself after trailer delivery so I'll end-up with a shower with an in-wall single-lever mixing valve but no sink.

I'll note that during my configuration my sales rep did indicate that the amount of 'customization' was being evaluated on a case-by-case basis by production personnel, and that was 'in flux' due to ETI's increasing production goals (some things previously accommodated were no longer being done as of that date).

So, as suggested by Eggscape, you need to consider all of the implications of deleting the bathroom sink and have that detailed discussion with your ETI sales representative about what they are and are not willing to do for your situation.

It never hurts to ask and be aware that what ETI is willing to do may change over the time between placing an order deposit and finalizing your build sheet. Good Luck and Have Fun!

(and don't be surprised or discouraged if your question elicits a set of forum responses nay-saying bathroom sink deletion; it's your trailer ).

Back in the good old days of the spring of 2020 when it took only 3 months to get your Escape, you could get a sink delete. Our shower valves are on the front wall of the shower enclosure at the same height as where the sink would have been. You might want to think about asking them to move or not mount the tissue holder as well.

For those who shudder at the thought of not having a sink in a bathroom, we have a bottle of hand sanitizer on the ledge, and the kitchen sink is two steps away. We have no aversion to using the kitchen sink for hand washing, teeth brushing, etc. Kitchen sinks clean up the same as bathroom sinks. YMMV

Keep in mind that the sink is not that large...we use it as big soap dish that also holds the shampoo.

In addition to being a good soap dish, the sink is a terrific grab bar for getting off the toilet. Removing it will not result in much usable extra space.

I almost did the sink delete in my 5.0TA, but decided to keep it at the end. Seeing it has been used maybe 3 times in over 4 years now, I really wish I would have deleted it. The space saving would be great.

What would you have in that space instead?

My buttocks when I turn around in the shower. I checked out the bathroom in a 19 before I decided to delete in my build. My wife agreed even more than I did.

Why would I need to do something? A cheap sink that gets no use does nothing to enhance it. If you use the sink a lot, it is a good thing to have.

I too deleted the sink and supplied the faucet for the shower. This was back in 2017 however.

I had them delete the sink on my build sheet, signed March 2nd, and my configuration specialist didn't mention anything about not getting the shower or supplying my own faucet components. I hope I still get a shower.

I like the sink and it gets used, but it’s a wonderful world that has choices.

I'd be on the phone checking, because I bet you don't get the shower unless specifically asked for in this case. (Hope I'm wrong!).

Ok, I will! Man, I would sure hope that is something that she would've mentioned to me.

Sink delete

I had ETI delete the sink and terminate the supply lines just through the wall on our 2020 21C. I then built a small counter cap to fit over those pipes and installed a faucet/shower diverter valve. Works well and gives us those precious few inches in that small spaces. You can still reach in there and wash your hands if you really want to.

That's an interesting approach and your woodwork is lovely! Glad you were able to implement a solution that works for you, kudos!

Called and spoke with Melissa (she's awesome) and she assured me that I would still get a shower, mounted on the wall. Whew! I was panicked for a bit!
