But from the new deck chair locations people had an excellent view of things as the Titanic went down!

I agree. In any event, Escape is not the Titanic. Needless to say, I did lots of research in deciding to purchase a 21. While I have not yet taken delivery, I have never been more certain that I have made the right choice in such a large purchase. With few exceptions the reported problems relate to third party products like stoves. These are the same stoves and other items that you will get purchasing from any manufacturer.

Be careful with the Threadlock post! I bought one for my 19" which is now sitting in my basement. It was way too flexible at the joint to be useful. I now have the gas powered unit that everyone else is using.

I’ll ponder this subject over the winter !
Steve besides the plastic slides , the issue is with too big a table and weight . I did cut our table down a good amount . the side that needs to hang on the ledge for dropping to a bed is still the same , so I can still use for a drop down bed . The table is a lot more stable now . I do intend to change the plastic slide also just haven"t gotten around to it yet . Pat

I agree with your diagnosis that the table top is too large / Heavy for a single support leg
I replaced numerous loose / stripped out table mounting screws with larger screws supplemented with glue
As I’ve stated time and time again I wish Escape would spend as much time and energy improving their existing product & solving existing issues as they do coming up with new cosmetic options .
Moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic did nothing to rectify the fact that the boat was sinking
Steve I totally concur with your fourth paragraph statement as you know . My frustration also ! Pat

When I see something that does not work effectively or to my liking, I change it. If the table is too heavy, put in a lighter one, if it is wobbly, fix the wobble or change it. Sometimes when used products are purchased you may have to reconstruct things to your own liking. Of the 4 Escape tables owned, the only issue I encountered was weight, the larger table in the E19 is a lot heavier than the smaller "U" size in the E21 and I think the smaller one could work well with a single pedestal due to its light weight.

The Lagun mount is the same, you want to get the smallest table that will fit your needs. Ours is rock solid, but it took quite an effort to select the Marine teak table size that would be right.
The larger the table, the more wobble potential on any mount system.

We have the Lagun as well, it is very very sturdy.

I did add an aluminum plate (approximately 2'X2') to the bottom of the table. I did not do this because of wobble, but because the area where the Lagun mounts to the table is too small and any downward force on the table could pull the 6 screws out of that mount. By adding the plate and adding screws to the aluminum plate's outside edges I've decreased the leverage when weight (like leaning on it) is applied.
Our Lagun is very very stable, very maneuverable and no floor post!

That's a good add Ronn. Did you use the original table or go with something custom?

2. Not closing the two clamps after desired height is achieved.

3. Using a standard size table. The large mass and weight of this makes table wobble more likely.
Good notes, but like Steve alluded to, tightening the clamps as much as possible really helps stabilize the pedestal.

I gotta say I really like the performance of the Springfield pedestal and 4-way Dicor slide. Never is there an issue with access as it moves so nicely, and can be turned 90°, something nice to do at times with the U-shaped table, and ours is full size. Real easy to make into a bed for sleeping or lounging as well.

The only thing I wish I could do, and Tom mentioned, is to remove the entire thing easily. I have some ideas, but way too busy working on our project home to do trailer work.

Yeah, some kind of bayonet type lock ring could be great.

We have the original table. We had all four corners cut which works great as well.

We had ETI not mount the table as I planned on putting in the Lagun which I did at the Lynden KOA the day after picking up in Chilliwack. I was a little worried about mounting the wall piece as I had studied much of the work done by others here on the forum. But it was not that hard to do the mount on the back bench wall and it was very sturdy, so sturdy in fact that the weak point was at the platform that the table mounted to. The aluminum sheet took care of that.

After looking at your installation of the Lagun, I'm beginning to think I may have to do the same. That is one really nice way to set up the dinette table. Congradulations!

There is a few things I like about the Lagun, but I have looked at it in a few trailers, one with a large table like we would want, and there was a fair bit of flexing going on, most of which seemed to be in the Lagun parts, and not in the good mounting folks did. Maybe they will come out with a stronger version.

You guys are killing me :-) So, I just sent my final build sheet for 5TA and selected Springfield pedestal with standard ETI slider. Now I'm not sure. Need your opinions again. I'm definitely going with Springfield but now perhaps not getting slider and going with Dicor mount? We will be getting u dinette. Problem is we will be on the road a couple of months on way back to NC and during transit no sliding table if I delete. So I'm prob looking at Dicor unit down the road and given that what is the easiest way to get to the Dicor ... slider/no slider from factory.

the Escape plastic slider is pretty minimalist, it would be easy to replace it with the dicor at any point in time.

Isn’t the problem that the Dicor slide is virtually impossible to get? Steve (stratos175) was nice enough to do a bulk order at risk for many of us recently but beyond that I don’t know of any way for someone to get one.

The New Escape Trailer could order them from Italy as they are already an importer.

springfield pedestal

We purchased a 2018 19 in the spring of 2018 from the factory. We do not have the U-shaped dinette/table, but the bench seat arrangement. I fight with the two poles to get the table down to make a bed for the grandkids. Looking at a possible Springfield solution to address. With the bigger table would an adjustable Springfield pedestal be a possibility? If so, what are some recommendations?
