Smile Escape Curious

I should probably get registered with the ETI referral plan.

I went up to Somerville Lake (COE) TX. fishing for a few days and I didn't count but I would bet about a dozen folks stopped by with 'What is that'?

The four folks I showed the inside too were impressed with the obvious quality. I have made no mods at all, unless one counts replacing the battery switch, so they saw it just as it was delivered.

I've never tried to sell anything but I think I could do this.

No need to register, just give the prospective owner an Escape card with your hand written name on it. Ask them to tell Escape they saw your unit. Then when they complete their purchase you will receive a $200 canadian check a couple of weeks later. I have probably sold close to 2 dozen Escapes here on the East coast. When I know I'm buying, I just ask Escape to hold my referrals and credit them to my build sheet.

you can let ETI know you are willing to show your trailer, they will give out your contact info to perspective buyers.

A rotary switch. I wouldn't have done it but the flip switch did not work. Dustin sent me a new one and after I put it on it broke on the second flip. Just flopped around.

Dustin told me to put one I liked on and send him the bill. That worked!

I don't think I want to do that. That would involve some planning and meeting..etc.

I don't do that anymore

That’s what my first one did also. Dustin sent me a replacement I put in last week. Although it works, it seems flimsy. I’ll see how long it lasts.

I noticed while under the seat that the heat pad switches are the same switch, or look the same.

I seldom replace anything unless it breaks but I'm thinking about those switches!

Just curious. Do you have a reference for the rotary switch you used?

I got it from a local farm implements dealer we use and I don't remember what brand it is. Next time I'm in the trailer, I'll look at it. Name is probably on it. It's quite a substantial switch.

This is the one I used for both the battery disconnect & my inverter. It is obviously overkill for the battery, and yes, I need to fix the torn paper finish where I removed the old off/on label.

I added a 20 amp disconnect switch for the feed from my truck in the hole left by the old disconnect. While the lithium batteries have a full charge cutoff, if I'm driving long distances, I wanted to be able to shut the feed off.

I mixed some acrylic tube colors to match the oak paper.

Thanks Jon. This is helpful. I will keep it on my Amazon list (with many other items) just in case.

Escape will send you sticky tape that looks just like the oak paneling and it makes a very clean cover up. It's what they use for their butt joins.

I tried coloured crayons made to hide damage to furniture. Didn't work at all.

What works is the boo-boo tape, which I posted pix of last week. Here they are again.
