Important order info - escape graphic colors

I could easily do without the graphics and I have actually removed some of the rear paisley as it was a little wild for me.

Same here. Going on 11 years and graphics still look good. It sits uncovered (although original owner may have covered it).

I see that said it was discontinued back 1/1/2016. Thats the color I picked for my 2020 hmm I will have to check on that.

Maybe there is some old stock still floating around of that color. Still, Avery Dennison states that the shelf life of the film is only two years.

I think maybe the Graphic pdf I have may be old, I will check with ETI on that.

I know you get more UVs down there, but I do wonder. My trailer has lived outside all its life. I've never applied 303. I've only used Simonize Wash and Wax and maybe twice a year properly waxed the trailer.

Texas probably gets more UV light in a day than Vancouver gets in a year!

Yes the graphic pdf i had was old they sent me a new one today and believe all the colors they offer now are 6 year .Spectra Red was replaced by Dark Red #450

I see that they changed from HP 700 to HP 750 as well - upgrade on the vinyl from years past.

There are many different types of vinyl for graphics. Variables include thickness and type of manufacture. Cast vs Calendered vinyl, color of graphic, are you in New England or New Mexico, waxing technique, substrate preparation etc. There are signs I made over 20 years ago that are still outside here in Vermont that look great! Others not so much. Find a good sign shop and a balance between price and longevity. Most stock graphics on cars are good quality vinyl and last for 20 years or more! Car paint is probably a better substrate than fiberglass. I have a feeling that Escape does not use the best stuff to keep their prices down.

I think you are right. The new owners of Escape have changed to the HP 750 group of graphic film which is rated for longer life.

After going through the effort to remove the failed film from my trailer, we have decided not to replace the graphics. The 21' doesn't look like it really needs the graphics and it will definitely make it easier to maintain and wax.

The gold film, after two years, is brittle, peeling, and has a drastic color change. I had thought that the graphics didn't look as good as they use to but when I started peeling it off, it really showed up. The metallic gold is now a cloudy brown - should have ripped it off long ago. I'll compound out the gelcoat and see if the color change goes away.

I can't be sure but the 750 looks like it might be a cast vinyl which are much better rated and will last much longer than the 700 which is a much cheaper and more temporary calendared vinyl.

Hi: All... Here I thought it was the "Bug" remover I used on the nose of our 5.0TA that screwed up the Logo. The edges peeled back so I took my wifes old hair dryer and removed all but the ghost image and had them replaced. My friendly Trim Line Design http://www.autotrimdesign.on.ca put the new ones on while we waited. Steve worked single handedly while taking a cell phone call. Alf

Thanks to NEWYORKHILLBILLY for uploading the new graphic colors.

The old colors and wear characteristics are due to the product being a cheaper calendared vinyl which has a much shorter life span. It is really designed for short term use signs or interior applications.
The new colors seem to be a cast vinyl product which should last a lot longer and is really designed for long term exterior use.

Yep it is a piece of cake if you know what you are doing! I used to dry apply much bigger graphics and letters like that. As long as your arms can stretch that far you can apply it....and if not fold it in half. It is all out getting it on straight.
