inverter question
tying to make a decision on the available inverters that escape provides. They offer a 1500 watt for $415.00. I stopped by our local pilot truck stop. They sell a 2000 watt for $179.00. Is there a difference in an inverter used in a rv as compared to one for a semi? Pete

A significant part of the cost of adding a large (1500 watt) inverter is the wiring, fusing, etc between the batteries & the inverter, which I doubt is included in the truck stop price...

jon, do you have a inverter in your escape? if so, it sounds to me there are transfer switches you throw to use your plugs. when the switches are thrown are all the plugs live or are they choosen? As you can guess im not sure how it works.

I added my own 1000 watt inverter (a Xantrex ProWatt sine wave inverter) after using the trailer for a year. I choose to add a separate receptacle for the output of the inverter rather than adding a transfer switch. I did include both a catastrophic 175 amp fuse & a high current cutoff switch feeding the inverter.

I find the default forum search (first item on the Search pulldown) to be unwieldy. I much prefer the "Search Site/Google" search (last item on the Search pulldown.)
