Good point....I didn't know they did that but it makes sense. I would go crazy having to watch the exchange rate all the time.
Of course you could do the same with installments. I set my computer to notify me at a certain exchange rate....then called them to send a check. In the past few years, I have seen it as low as .66 and as high as even...ouch.

I absolutely knew I would! I like following the international exchange rates for money. Kinda fun. BUT, when I was planning my budget for Ten Forward, I only figured it in USD. That's how I earned it, that's how I was going to spend it. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount I actually spent. Would I have gotten more 'options' had I known. No. It was built just the way I wanted it. I had reasons for every decision. Although I did pay 86 cents USD and y'all are getting 10-13 cents less, I have ZERO regrets.

And, yes, a 3 or 4 day transfer time could have, and did, impact our final price. I had to pay $50 when I picked up the trailer......I was just irritated that I paid a premium for international overnight and it didn't get there on time. whine, whine, whine
Ah........., I never said anything about my build sheet locking in our exchange rate. We paid in four installments, each locking in a rate for that portion of the price. Once we paid in full we "essentially" had fully locked in the price. We averaged about $.774 for our camper. And yes, to be technical, because of the gap between when we sent the last payment and they received it we had a little over $20 in credit that we used to help purchase two t-shirts and a stocking cap.

Enjoy,

Perry

Exchange rates

After sending our deposit through wire transfer & paying fees @ both ends minus the unfavorable bank exchange rate of $1.275, We've used OFX money transfer. No fees & the rate is better than a bank rate. I transferred today when USD/CAD hit $1.35 & the transfer rate was $1.331

Yah, hate to bet against my own country but there are signs that it's going lower. Will we ever see parity again?
