New 23 floorplan renderings on ETI website!

There are now some new floorplan renderings on the Escape website! They are calling them the 23C for queen bed, and 23T for 2 single beds. Looks like they got creative on the 23C to make it a walk-around, with rounded corners on the bed and what appears to be a folding bathroom door...

Interesting that the long trailer frames of late have had a bump up behind the rear wheels and does not indicate the same.

Just checked the website. Hummm...from the pictures, I wonder if the new 23 will have room for a front storage bin? And is there room for an oven?? And all the upper cabinets have acrylic inserts?? But nice to see 2 different floor plans to choose from. -Bea

Looks like no front window in the bedroom area. Seems like it could be darker inside than the current trailers. Need to see one in the flesh. Really like the L shaped dinette

There appears to be a front window on the 23C. I don’t see one on the 23T and that makes sense with the full height wardrobe between the beds.

Let's see here ....

Exterior length: E23= 23'9" / E5.0 = 21'2" (less rig overall due to TV overlap)
Interior Length: E23= 19'5" / E5.0 = 19'8"
Exterior Width: E23= 7'11" / E5.0 = 7'4"

Seems cut up and will feel less spacious than a 21 C due to the constricted corridor. Also the counter space is about the same as a 17B.

So you walk into the camper at the dinette that has no area to put shoes and jackets?

Plus, if you have the 23C version you have to walk through the entire trailer to use the bathroom?

Both trailers look quite cramped.

I guess if we ever get rid of our 5.0 we'll go back to a 25' Bigfoot where they carefully thought out spaces. BTDT.

I have to agree, it strikes me as a lot of 'compromises' in exchange for the 'privilege' of a dry bath (IMO the most significant distinct feature and driver of the design; the walk-around bed being second).

But, different folks have different priorities .... wishing ETI well on this undertaking and its reception by the market. IMO we all, present and future owners of all models, benefit from ETI's continued business success!

Maybe I am being overly critical, but looking at the layouts makes me cringe. IMO it's awkward and ugly. On the 23C, I can picture myself trying to squeeze between the corner of the bed and the wall to access the toilet. A folding door that's left to swing around when open, but making the bed area totally claustrophobic when closed. The kitchen layout is awful and with the cooktop located where it is, can't imagine how it would accommodate an oven unit. Both trailers look very awkward at the entry area. And all that extra weight and length just for a separate shower? Seriously surprised that this is the best they could come up with. Each to their own I guess, but after experiencing the efficient layout of the 19, would never consider this unit.

The ceiling of the 23 is 2 " higher that the 21C.
I don't have a problem with either of the 23 models. It might attract some people who do not like the wet bath but I doubt I would trade in our 21, we like it too much.

Prior to the 23', all Escapes of all sizes have all had the classic Trillium three-inch step up in the frame at the rear, although there was no corresponding step in the floor in some models (the original 21' and original 5.0TA, I think).

Okay, I am going to make one simple point.

How is it that you can add two feet in overall length, and still need to cut off the corners of the bed? I like the corners of our bed and they get used every time we both sleep in the 5.0.

That seems like a compromise you should not have to live with. Separate beds? No snuggling? No thank you.

That last part certainly is true. The 23 seems to be laid out around a need for the best shower setup possible. That's really not a priority for me, so I just don't have much interest.

My priorities (in order) are:
1) Toilet somewhere onboard (eliminates the 17A from my list)
2) Queen bed - At this point the 19 fits the bill.

I'd like to have a queen bed that allows both sleepers exit at the foot, but the 21C bed (which does this) is narrower than a queen.

I can't use an Escape 5.0 because I carry kayaks. The 5th wheel takes away the option to carry boats.

So if the 23 had taken the approach of using the extra length to kind of make a 21C but with the bathroom relocated to allow the bed to be a true queen, it would have been perfect.

Seems like the whole thing is geared around the dry bath, which will be an appeal for some buyers. For us, the wet bath is fine and I like that it doesn’t take up much floor space in our 21. The 23 kitchen seems awkward and small, no real prep space except the dining table. I also wonder if the narrow aisle by the bedroom would make it feel cramped. I enjoy the sight line in our 21c from bed to dinette. It seems like the queen bed would work better turned horizontally with a walk around, less corner cutting needed. That said, I’d love to see one, as it may be more spacious feeling in person, but feel our 21 has been awesome for us. Also-no front storage box shown in the layouts-? IMHO, I think some of the concepts are good, but that their smaller campers seem to be more efficient layouts.

Makes me realize we really like our Escape 19. The separate shower is a spacehog as is the walk around queen. Looks like there will be thousands of happy new owners.
