ordering dinette table not installed?
We are having a tough time deciding on table option. Anyone order their Escape and ask that the table not be mounted at all? We were thinking as long as we have the top piece, we can make the extra bed with it as needed, and we wouldn't have any of the floor-mounted hardware to trip over or try to remove if we end up wanting to bring in our own table or just not use a table in that area.
Would it be easy to remove the standard or the Springfield pedestal floor mounting later, if we wanted to?
It looks like the Lagun option does not have floor hardware - it looks to be connected to the dinette seat support? So would that be the better option for us if we think we may never use the table at all? (We just need the top because occasionally we may want to make the bed with it.)

I think several peeps order table not mounted. ETI wouldn't have an issue with it...
Just ask your configuration specialist

I did, ETI said no problem, didn't bat an eye.
The table top was delivered in the 'bed' position between the benches, fastened with two hidden small angle-brackets/screws underneath to ensure nothing moved during shipping; all the hardware (slider, posts, screws, etc, etc) was in boxes packed in cabinets.
Same price whether installed or not.
Perfect if you're undecided like I was - you can install it yourself as per OE or do whatever else you want. I'm glad to not have any holes for any 'factory mount' in my dinette floor.

We ordered ours without the table installed. Going on four years and still don't want or need a table. We have the u-shaped dinette with a filler cushion, and use the area as a lounging area. We eat there using a serving tray to hold our condiments and drinks. If needed, we have a folding table that is meant to use outside that we've used inside a couple of times.
Enjoy,
Perry

We got ours delivered uninstalled because in 2018 the only option was for the two pole standard table legs. We bought the Lagun table support and installed it ourselves.
If you think you might use your table sometimes I would recommend the Lagun because it is only the metal mounting plate on the back dinette bench when the table is removed which is completely out of the way when not in use. And the Lagun parts don't take up much room either.

In 2018 we did not get the table legs installed as the showroom model had screws coming through the floor as pictured. Since we were going to make our own raised floor I did not want the holes through the fiberglass.

Yes, our first Escape 21 we had the Springfield pedestal. Next Escape 21 we didn’t get the table installed. Didn’t want the holes in the floor. Instead we got the fold up shelves and use them for dining.
Area is open to use as a lounging area.

We like being able to use our table inside or outside the trailer.
So, we have ordered our 21NE without the table installed. We are going to use this as the base:

Hello Thomas
You are a very smart guy. How do I know? Well, Because we had a 19 with a UShaped dinette. Owing to my excessive girth it was difficult for me to contort my way into the seat. And we had those crazy friction fit support posts. So we looked into table frames and bought our first Snap 2 base. Then my brother and I made a second table top and affixed it to the base. Easy up and down, could move it over and back for access and on a few boondocking sites we took it outside for a nice table. We let it go with the 19 when we sold the trailer. The 21 came with the wall mounted table with the single front post. Worked ok but we had grown fond of the snap 2 base so some friends picked up a couple plastic slides from Escape and I picked up a new base in Elkhart. Took the factory setup out and put the snap 2 base in. You’ll probably figure this out but here are three tips.
1. Cut a little 3/4 by 3/4 stop stick, tapered on on e
end to keep the table from sliding forward when it’s on the rails and you’re traveling. It will be about 6 inches long or so.
2. Get a piece of 2X4 about a foot long to put your foot on one end and the other end on the cross frame on the floor. It will be a lot easier to pop the table up when you want to use it.
3. Finally, the frame has levelers on each corner. Once you get the table level so it doesn’t rock and you tighten down the jam nut you’ll think you’re good to go. But eventually the nut will back off. So take the plastic end caps off and run a second nut down on the threads and tighten it down. Put the cap back on and forget it.
Congrats on your new trailer when you get it. I know you’ll enjoy it.
