Question Process for using custom fabric?

Hello, we are planning our build and not sure exactly how the custom fabric option works. We found a fabric we like on one of the links suggested by Escape's website. They say it's an $88 upgrade fee. Does this mean just that amount, or do we have have to pay for the fabric, as well as the extra $88?

How smooth was this process for anyone who went the custom fabric route? How do we in the US get the fabric to Escape? We emailed the company days ago about a particular fabric but no response.

Things change. But I had to buy the fabric, pay the 'option' fee and get the fabric to ETI. I wanted what I wanted and have no regrets. YMMV

(2018) I ordered and paid for fabric from Fabric.com here in the US. They mailed it to ETI. There was a $28 customs import fee which ETI added (rightly so) to my build sheet. I paid the option fee plus a fee because I had separate fabrics for cushions and valances. I am very happy with my choice 3 years later.

Totally agree! Take ETI's estimate of yardage with a grain of salt, however. We had a lot left over.

How would one determine how much to supply then?

In my recent experience when you provide details on the fabric you propose to supply, your ETI configuration specialist will counsel on yardage required in consideration of pattern / texture matching and the cushions / valances in your specific build.

They will explain their basis for 'contingency allowance', including the risk that goes with underestimating, the value of not erring in that direction.

They have two fabric suppliers they work with that will ship directly to Escape. The names are on their web site under personalization. You need to pay for the fabric plus shipping and tax plus other fees they have listed. I just had JT ship my fabric for my 21. Flooring is ordered through Olsen flooring which you pay for and they drop ship. and if you get custom Formica Escape will order it at the small up charge fee you do not have to pay for the Formica. . Make sure you get Escape to approve what you pick out before you order it.
