Hi Laura the white pads Andrews is showing ,are cut from white plastic cutting boards . I did the same with the yellow pads you can buy . Then you attach to the metal pads . Pat

so do some people not have these installed?
seems like if they are needed for proper functionality of the stabilizer in various conditions...one might ask why don't they come attached to the stabilizer as standard whereas the plastic part can be accomplished with various means.

Probably because BAL sells them as separate pieces. I suppose ETI could put them on and then increase the price of the trailer for whatever the difference would be. Some don't ever put them on, just let the leg down on a Lego block or the like.

I use the Lego blocks, but I have a high-lift axle. Takes three or four on each side at the rear to save cranking and so that they work.
I have no use for the sand pads.

They have to give us things "to change" after we get the trailer home. What fun would it be if you got the trailer home and everything was done?

They are not needed for the proper functionality of the stabilizer, one can just use a flat piece of wood, which and do under the stabilizer without the sand plate as they are called. Others use the plastic lego blocks. Needed, no, useful, yes.
