Will this lock fit all escape doors? We have a 2016 escape with the new 2017 body style door. How hard they to install?

Looks nice! Deciding whether to order one but have one question - do you have to enter a code every time you open the door? Or can it be left in the unlocked position?

Just watched a Youtube video
Once you unlock it, the door will open and close normally so no, the code only needs to be input once.

I'm admitting my ignorance here, but this is a lot of money to replace a brand new item. What is wrong with the locks that ETI installs? I've never had any trouble with mine.

You control when it locks or unlocks. You can leave locked or unlocked for as long as you like.

Definetly a great improvement lock . Unfortunately for those of us who have the Classic style doors , you only need to remove our screws on the outside of our doors and you are in trailer in a no time . So the locks on our doors still do the job .Still love our Classic trailer . Pat

The biggest improvement is being able to use a combination when you don't have your key around your neck. It also means you can unlock or lock the trailer remotely - like your car.

I am pretty sure that that lock will not go on our 21'. I don't know what the new door looks like and if it has space but we don't.

I guess I should explain a little better . The lock will enhance and make your new gen. Trailer better and a little more secure . Those of us with the Classic build will not , whether or not it will fit . You can remove our doors from the outside . So with the cost , batteries , potential of lost remotes , just trying to inform those of us with Classic builds . Met no disrespect to Laura who is our friend . She has a new gen. Trailer not the Classic . It will work for her trailer and we would maybe buy the lock and install it if we had a new gen. Trailer . We added stainless steel deadbolt lock sets to our previous motorhome and camper, which had same like door as the new gen. . The RV's locks are not very secure . This lock would be a improvement . Pat

I think people should buy security equipment that gives them peace of mind. If your trailer is stored someplace other than at your home, you might want to consider this a door key for a fiberglass trailer. It really doesn't take much to pry open a fiberglass door.
