stainless vs white?

Hello Everyone,
We're clear on most of our build sheet but are debating stainless vs white for the sink and stove. Does anyone have regrets about which they chose? If so, why? We've chosen dark blue Formica (and a fabric that is a light base with blue in it - I can post a picture later) so either will look nice (I think). Also, the picture on Escape's webpage is of the three burner white/stainless stove, does anyone have a picture of the two burner one?
Thanks! Jane

At least for the sink "white" versus "stainless" isn't just a matter of colour - white means plastic and stainless means steel. You may have a preference between the two regarding maintenance and durability.

The stove is steel either way, so it's a finish difference... again with maintenance differences.

On a second go 'round, I'd get the stainless sink, which doesn't mean it won't stain, just that it will stain less than the white plastic.

Our stainless stained right away. You can get the stains out. No such problem with the white.

My white plastic is stained. Of course it would help if dirty coffee cups weren't tossed in the sink when leaving a campground and forgotten until the next trip.

Our stainless has stayed stain less. I got the stainless as I was afraid I'd put a too hot pot in the white and melt the plastic.

Stainless is a whole lot harder to scratch when washing metal items.

Eric, I am wondering if they are using something different now for their stainless sink. Others are reporting staining right away.

Cathy - that's a bummer if so, as ours has been very durable. Worth asking.

Two burner in white turned 90*. No stains or damage to either the sink or stove top but then I'm not allowed in the kitchen. After you figure out white or stainless then it's; stove turned 90* or not? There'll be lots of opinions on that also.

Though it is a matter of personal choice, I think stainless looks a little higher end. Were very happy with ours. What's next, granite counter tops? Loren

Stainless here. There was a fugly warning sticker on our stainless 2 burner stove cover. Tried to peel it off on the way home and made a mess. Goofoff I had in my supplies at home took off the remaining mess of the sticker very easily.

Time to admit that I tried to use a razor blade scraper to gently remove a sticker from the white enamel stove cover, after Goo-Gone failed to do the job.
Managed to shave a small patch of paint, which is why we have a fridge magnet there.

Our stainless has been okay -- not stained after two long trips -- but I was conflicted because I think the white sink is a tad deeper. We have the white stove because I didn't want to spend extra money on stainless. It looks fine even though the two don't match. We have a light blue counter.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the pictures and the advice. I'm leaning towards stainless, but will check in with the spouse.

I went with stainless, turned the two-burner stove portrait and have a much bigger/deeper sink... SWOON!

For those who choose an oven, the stove top is black. Tammy recommended the stainless sink because it doesn't clash with the black. No stains on our sink after several trips.
