Table in 21’

I know what I want in the way of a table for my hoped for 21’, but all the talk of mounting options and different brands has me really confused. We will order a standard dinette because we know we will be seating at least four and we want that large table for games, etc. it will need to be lowered from time to time and made up into a bed. What do I need? Thanks!

The stock table will seat maybe 6, at least 4, across from one another, large table. the optional $400 "U" dinette will seat 4, 2 in the rear and one across another, smaller table

With the larger table, and needing to convert to a bed from time to time, the Springfield pedestal has been very popular with Escape owners. It is a single adjustable height pedestal, strong and sturdy, and easily drops the table down to fill in for a bed when needed. The single pedestal gets in the way of feet under the table a lot less than the two standard factory solid pedestals.

I'm curious how the Springfield pedestals are holding up over time for folks. We have friends whose Springfield's internal air compression bladder blew (or something like that), and now it's just an inconvenient foot stool until they can get it replaced. But that's a single observation. Any others out there who have experienced similar problems with their Springfield? Or is our friend's problem simply a one-off. Just curious.....

No problems yet; have used it a lot over the last three years we've owned it.

If I had need of seating 4 adults, I'd get the standard dinette, not the U, the U being what I have. I've not looked at the table leg options for the regular dinette table, can't help on selection.

As far as the Springfield, same as Rossue, still working fine although I rarely drop it down. Beats the original legs but it's in the way sometimes, being non removable.

Ok, Springfield was the first one I heard of and it seemed to be exactly what I need, but then the other choices confused me. Is this the one I bring to ETI at pick up and they install or is it something added to my build sheet? Sometimes I think I’m spending TOO much time trying to educate myself about all the various options! I appreciate having all of you willing to give direction.

Lisa- many of us have been accused by family members of being forum addicts, yet prior to turning in your build sheet this is the best place to help you (hopefully) get it right. I also asked and was granted build sheets of others when asked.

ETI will install the Springfield pedestal( bring it) however you need to tell them not to install their stock dual pedestal mounts or else you will see holes in your vinyl from those screws.

There are many unlisted options that I learned of through many hours on this forum and my favorites are the toilet shutoff valve and the switches to control the outside lights- two of which were added: rear and front. Then you need to specify the height you want for those lights.

Don’t know about other models but the standard table in the 17 is in two pieces. The large part table, and an approx 8” filler board. So the table *itself* doesn’t span the entire space front to back. This can helpful in providing more space for people to slide in. Iirc the standard is having the table so that it’s nearer the back and the filler board goes in front if you are making the bed. I had my Springfield installed so the front table edge is even with the rise in the floor and the filler board goes in back along the window. If you want this you might specify, as the gap isn’t always standard front to back, so they weren’t sure the filler would fit in back, but it did.

Love the Springflield too and have had over 3 years . No issues and it needs to be down every night we are camping . Pat
