Depends on trailer model, on the 19, the kitchen window is awning, all the rest are sliders. In the 21 model all are sliders unless you request the smaller awning window from the 19. The emergency window in all the models flip out like an awning.
Here is an idea, I believe the door fixed window is the same size as the bath window which slides up, you may want to either switch those two or have the bath type installed in the door. You will lose the double pane value but gain air movement.

Thanks Jim. We put a down payment of the 21' so I guess sliders it is. Not bad, we are used to them. Just didn't know if it was an option or not. I know people have said in other threads "just pick something and be happy" (that is the Nathan translation) but I read others say that they had this or that done and when it seems like it would be something that we might like

I just can't help myself from asking!!

I'm thinking of purchasing another bath slider and do the door switch, if not happy I can always switch back. If you pick up your unit you may want to pick up an extra for a future change.

My bath is an awning style. I'm sure the emergency escape window cannot be an awning. Don't know if possible with the others - call ETI and ask.

I was told they ran out of the awning and all that was available were vertical sliders for the bath? I do not believe the awning units are insulated like the sliders are. Any your emergency is a awning type window, it opens from the bottom and is hinged on top.

hmmmm...despite Alf's warning about dual pane windows fogging with age, I'm still rather drawn to the dual pane windows. You just never know when you might feel the need to go sit in the trailer in the middle of winter. If on the other hand, they do go bad and fog up, and Alf says "I tried to tell you" I'll be compelled to pretend that I am blind and can't read the screen...

So I guess I like sliders, even though I thought I liked the awning style. Don't worry, I'll change my mind tomorrow...

Sounds like this is getting over complicated (lol). Just get the thermal window package. Less condensation and better retention of either heat or cold.

In the 19, the opening window over sink is an awning window, and it's thermal. In the 21, it's a larger thermal slider. The emergency escape window opens from the bottom and pivots out regardless of model. It's not really an awning window, where part of the window is fixed and the bottom portion pivots out.

None of the bathroom windows are thermal. It's a frosted glass up and down slider. In any trailer with a front window, that one isn't thermal either, because it's designed so the rock guard recesses into it.

I concur, I would get the thermal window package regardless of location.

BUT, it does help either keep the heat in, or keep the heat out. There is no measure of cold, only heat can be transferred.

Oops, now it is me complicating things. At least I did learn something in school. LOL

In my mind, its not a KISS thing. Heck, nothing in my mind is.

It's just that one answer leads to another question or possibility and why not chase the rabbit down the hole for a while? Kinda like my first question was about awning vs. sliding, which then changed to thermal, non-thermal which spawned whatever laws of science the cold vs. heat thing is, and even front door modification possibilities. To my thinking it's all good, valuable information. And it's not too complex to me...its just weighing the choices which are presented. At times, I think that one argument makes more sense, and then I think "but what if..." Buyer's remorse stinks, you know?

I consider both the emergency windows on all units and the kitchen windows on a 19' to be awning. That is because they both open out from the bottom and look like an awning when open.

Thank you, Robert, for mentioning your awning kitchen window. We are the first ones to have it on a 21' that I know. Of course, most everyone would want the bigger standard window anyway.

The bath used to have a little awning window but we understand no more.
You can almost see those bath (front) and awning windows here.

I'd say the awning kitchen window is about 50% smaller than the standard 21' kitchen window slider.

Does anyone know, or has anyone had, Escape run the awning light cord in the same hole as the porch light, or say above it? The 21' we saw had the cord go in the side of back-end of the trailer, which didn't look to great..

I had the AC receptacle moved to the rear awning leg mount area and a 12V outlet added next to it. Wifey runs any kind of awning lights she wants that way, cord runs up the rear awning support arm from down there.

The issue I see is the power cord is at the end of the lights, if you want the lights to stop at the kitchen, rather than extend the full awning length, then your light will be about 1/3 smaller than the stock light, which extends the full awning length.

It is actually very easy to connect in the middle. I do it all the time for under cabinet lighting in kitchens. You would have a very small gap in the string where you tie in.

That said, after seeing them in person, these lights are not for me.

Well, truth be told, it's rather like "meh" for me (to borrow an often used word from my daughter

) and I wasn't thrilled with the cord disappearing into the upper side of the trailer, but my wife really likes the awning light. The being said, if the entry point into the Escape could be hidden, I would have no problem with it...
