U-Shape fabric Question?
Calls for 8.8yards for u-shape. Double if repeating. Picking a vertical stripe that repeats. So I need 18 yards?

Vinny,
You might call and talk about the stripes. We have vertical stripes, not broad but slim and I did not have to double fabric. Sent the 8 and had some left. 19 yds. is a lot of fabric!
I know some of the others have done wide stripes, maybe they will answer.

Beautiful fabric! I know some of the others have used the Sunbrella fabrics. I think Escape should be a blue to give you a really good idea of how much you need. I think Sunbrella will send directly to escape also.
Can't wait to see your Friday pictures in future with that fabric!

Is the double fabric requirement so the upholsterer can line up the pattern on the seat and back cushions?

Yes. I think the one he is using has the pattern repeat so often, that it shouldn't take that much fabric.

Vinny, they haven't changed that language on the build sheet for a repeating pattern, but they don't actually use double for a repeating pattern. We have stripes too, the U-shaped dinette, and we also had them upholster all sides (no vinyl). On our 19 we sent them 17 yards of fabric and we still have enough left over to make several pillows. If you wanted to send them just what is required for the valances and cushions, and you are not upholstering all sides, probably 10 yards is enough. Call to ask, but there's no way you need 18 yards. I'm going to measure the remnant today and I'll update later on how much material they actually used.

OK, just did some measuring and here is what we have left. Our fabric came in a roll that was a little over 54" wide. We have 16 1/2 feet left on this roll! There is also a remnant that is about 27" wide and 6 feet long. The "yardage" left on the main roll is about 5 1/2 yards. The small remnant is about 2 yards. So, we have about 7 1/2 yards left over, and we sent them 17 yards. As I mentioned earlier, we also had them upholster all sides of the cushions, which uses more. I think 10 is enough.
