Viewing a 5.0

My husband and I live in central N.J. and the closest place to see a 5.0 is several hours away, so we'll need to wait until December to see it. I'm wondering if there is anyone closer to us. We are in the New Brunswick area.

We are just a bit south of you in Burlington NJ and would love to see one as well. So please let us know, or if you decide to order one, we can split delivery costs.

So far I've had no success. There is one in New York, but the folks are in Texas til May. Tammy just emailed me contacts for Blacksburg and Scottsville, Virginia. I haven't had the heart to look yet to see how far away they are. We saw a 19' and that was good, but I really think we want the 5.0, but we can't order it unless we are able to go inside and feel the actual space. Maybe I can convince my husband to take a road trip.

I'll let you know.

Blacksburg, Va is down I81 south thru Virginia past Roanoke, Va., Scottsville is further north but mid state, by Charlottesville, Va. . I have a Escape 19' here in York, Pa which I bought sight unseen this past July.

Maybe see if you can check out a 17B. It's layout is quite similar to the 5.0. The 5.0 has extra storage and a full length closet instead of the front dinette plus a larger bathroom (the same size as the 19 but with more headroom and then the queen bunk up front.

Look at the layouts on the Escape web site to get an idea of what I mean.

Barry are you saying that the inside of the 17B has the same total space as the lower part of the 5.0? I just looked at the specs and I see what you mean about the layout. I think that if there is a 17 close by we might look, but in the end we really need to be inside the space to confirm that we'll be comfortable in it.

Hi Ruth

Yes basically the lower part of the 5.0 is the same area as a 17B except the front part (that is the single dinette in the 17B) is laid out differently and you have the added "extra space" that is the queen bunk in the 5.0. That being said, the 5.0 is way more spacious and has far more storage space than the 17B. Also the ceiling is higher in the 5.0 too.

I've owned both trailers and just love the 5.0 that we have now.

Hi Ruth,
If the weather holds up, we are planning a trip to see our children and grandchild in Cherry Hill, New Jersey the Thanksgiving week. We have the 5.0 so if you're interested in coming down for a look please let us know. New Brunswick is probably no more than 90 minutes away.

We enjoy our "Lucky To Escape" trailer and no matter which escape trailer you choose, you can't go wrong.

Roger, why not to put your 5th on the new Escape map link at top of page. It will help prospective buyers like Ruthe locate owners.

Roger and Julia -- when will you be in Cherry Hill? I am going to California for Thanksgiving and my husband may or may not be here, but Cherry Hill is so close to us (relatively speaking) that I'd love for this to work out. Thanks for letting me know.

Planning on arriving Monday, November 19 and staying till Friday, November 23.
If those dates are not good we might be coming back for Christmas if the weather is OK.

Jim, do not have a Google account so I believe I can't get on the map. I'm not that good with the computer but I will try again in the near future.

Hi Roger from Florida...

My wife and I life about 15 minutes from Cherry Hill NJ and we will be around for thanksgiving. If you would be open to showing your 5.0 that would be great. Alf has sent me many many pics but I have been wanting to see one in person. So if we can meet up please let me know.

Hi Again Roger, I sent you an email that we wouldn't be able to meet with you, but I realized that if you are there in the morning of the 19th we might be able to meet up.

Anyone with a 5.0 near Irvine, California

I'm not having much success finding a 5.0 in NJ, but I will be in Irvine California and Laguna Beach during Thanksgiving -- Is there anyone in that general area with a 5.0?

Update: We went to Virginia this past week and were able to see a 5.0. Now we need to weigh the pros and cons between that and the 19'.
