Walmart Madness and a $98.00 HDTV
My nephews said they were going to Walmart after Thanksgiving Dinner. The first question to come to mind was "why?".
The second was, "hey could you grab me one of those $98.00 32" flat screen TV's if you can?"
He actually got us one, without sustaining any injuries.
(It has a surprisingly good picture.)
It looks like it will fit the TV arm in the Escape so we are moving up from a 17" to a 32" TV. I am concerned that it might actually be "too big" for the watching distance in the bed.
Anyone else using a 32" TV?

Wow Dan, 32" is a pretty big TV for an Escape. I am trying to imagine where it could possibly be mounted in a 19' and still be out of the way when not in use. Our 19" tv gets mounted on an arm just around the corner from the fridge in the rear bed area. Hard to imagine that anything much bigger would fit there without blocking views from windows or extending into the aisle. I think you may have to stick with your 17" tv and just send me your new 32" tv for use in my workshop.

I don't think it would be too big for viewing, especially if you could stay 8-10' back, but you would need to keep it somewhere other than mounted, or it surely would get in the way.
Remember though, this is coming from a guy who does not have a TV in his trailer. Maybe someday when I retire.

And there is a weight limit on that swing arm (10 lbs according to Escape). We also had them measure the area on our Escape and it turned out that 19" was about the biggest size we could handle.

For what it's worth, I keep our 15 inch TV under the bed. I think it's still there.

That's because its only use was to view photos of all those fish you were going to catch.

Well the arm is already there, and the VESA mounting plate will accomodate the TV. The measurement is such that it looks like it will swing around the corner for dinette viewing AND bed viewing, but the bed viewing distance will be pretty close.
As to the weight of the TV, it is 12.4 lbs.
We would remove it when towing and just lay it on the bed.

Then all you need is to find a 24/7 fireplace channel.

On the build sheet Escape says the wall mount extendable arm is for 15' to 19" TVs. I was thinking about asking them about this since finding even a 19" TV from a good manufacturer is becoming difficult.

Not now, but 3 years ago when the trailer was manufactured, maybe.

My build sheet says the arm is "For 15" - 22" TVs". The arm maker normally puts the size limits on the TV. And we should probably derate them a bit or remove the TV for travel - most houses don't shake as much as trailers going down the road. (LOL)
I am sure the arm limits are for flat panel TVs. I remember moving a 21" CRT TV - not light. And the wall mounts they used to have for them - MUCH larger.
