A tradition has fallen....

I got both my propane tanks refilled today, 4.5g in one and 2.0g in the other. Cost was $16. So I'm refilled and ready for New Brunswick and points north. It was interesting, the platform needed repainting. I also added some rubber to the tank bottoms for rust prevention and set the tanks straight in the holder.
So this one maybe a keeper, my first trailer where both propane tanks have been refilled since taking ownership. I'm thinking of installing a wood floor now after seeing all the nice custom floors coming out from Escape recently.

A FIRST, an absolute first for Jim. Refilling tanks, rather than buying a new, custom ETI build There's always next year Jim.... wonder what new ETI build may be on the horizon

Jim, if you don't mind me asking, what rubber feet did you get for your tanks and from where? Dale

Could cut out a cheap dish mat from anywhere.

A partial refill doesn't count.

I took an old rubber hose, cut into 1" sections, 3 for each tank, slit down the middle and slipped them on.

Sooner or later you might. I've done it, as have others.

I want something that will let the base ring of the tanks "breath" so moisture under the tanks will evaporate rather than linger and induce rust. I think a dish mat would still tend to trap moisture, perhaps even more, and hasten rusting.

You asked about his rubber feet. If you want rubber feet, the mat can be cut into a few little pieces. There are always rubber furniture cups as well as all kinds of rubber pieces from children's departments that act as bumpers. Could use overhead and under tanks. We have rubber stripping inside the trailer that can be cut into little pieces.

Great idea, Jim. Thanks.
I think I'll make mine from some 3/8" clear tubing I have; just split it lengthwise and slip it on the bottom edge of the tanks

I'm going to leave mine to rust and slap some Rustoleum paint on it at some point in the future.
This is my pan after eight years. I think it'll last a while longer.
Note that the abraded part isn't where you would expect it.
