Adios!

Just wanted to thank ya'll for your helpfulness while I was researching my next RV. I have ultimately decided to go with a different manufacturer. Hope to see you on the road someday!

Hi Bob,

We have decided to order a new Lazy Daze class C motorhome. I had one years ago and really enjoyed it!

Nice, they were on the short list when we bought the Escape.

My wife wanted a Motorhome, but when I pointed out all the times we leave the campsite and go exploring, she realized a trailer is our best choice.

I hate towing which is one reason I like Escape. The low weight, low aerodynamic profile tows so easy. I don’t know how people pull those big 8’ wide tall stick boxes. We were getting 16 mpg towing the Escape 17b with the 4RUNNER. I’m not to interested in 7.5 MPG in the motorhome.

nice rig . If we would have been fortunate enough to afford a motor home that would be the one. We were not so we got the best trailer that we could afford. E21.
Enjoy your Lazydays.

I am of the same mind. Lots of nice motorhomes out there, but I love to explore both by vehicle and on foot (or bike) and the tow vehicle makes more sense for us. Plus the truck gets lots of use else wise by me, whereas maybe not by others. I don't want to bring a toad either.

But, I love towing having done it hordes all my life, mostly for work though. To me it is second nature. Dropped my Class I license though as I have no intent of driving the big rigs again.

Ditto. I even attended a couple of Lazy Daze rallies when I was researching RVs. But I finally decided a travel trailer would work better for me.

Very nice Class C . It would definetly be on the short list if we went back to motor homes . One nice advantage so much less to do and only one license . Good for you ! Pat

Thanks for all your comments! If we do end up going back to a trailer, I will for sure keep Escape in the forefront. The class C is a much more expensive choice but, not already having a truck to tow a trailer with, makes the financial part a little easier to swallow.

The point made about having a vehicle to explore with is a valid one, and one we have considered. We will initially start out without a toad but may ultimately end up with one.

Let's see, Cherry Ames had a 5.0TA, sold it and bought a Lazy Daze. Kent had a Lazy Daze and now has a 5.0TA... now you Greg. And that's just the ones I know about. Laudy, you folks need to get together and trade among you.

It's ALL good. Go forth, make memories

We sold our lazydaze to move to our 5.0 T/A. It was new to us 2004 and we sold it in 2017. It was the 23.5' t/k . Loved the layout and they are well built but we didn't want anyone traveling sideways in a dinette seat. I think they are the best looking class C's on the road.

Russ, it was a pleasure meeting you as well! Thanks again for letting us check out your Escape. Hope to see in on the road someday as we visit the Central Coast often!

I bought my Lazy Daze new in 2003 and loved every one of the 190,000 miles I put on it. They are one of, if not, the best made class C’s out there. They are family owned and sold from the factory as Escape is. I sold it in 2018 and moved into my 2018 17b Escape as did two other Lazy Daze women friends. We all three ordered and picked up our 17b’s on the same day. I have observed that Lazy Daze and Escape owners are ones who have taken time to do the research to find quality RV’s.
I love my Escape but I do still miss my Lazy Daze sometimes. I did not tow a car with the LD and having my Honda Pilot to explore in now has been great. I also love that I no longer have two vehicle engines to maintain. My car would remain at my son’s home and would be used more by his family than by me.

Sounds like there are a few folks here that are former LD owners. For those that don't know much about Lazy Daze, since they are a very small manufacturer, here is an article that was in Motorhome Magazine three years ago:
