Thing is before I use Amazon I research to see if anyone local business has it and the cost. If not in stock when can they get it and if they charge me shipping and return policy. I go with the best price. Even with the increase Amazon has saved me over $1000.00 in the past yr not including shipping cost I might have incurred with other options. So for me n my $$ it’s a win win. I do try n support local business as much as I can but being on a fixed income, I need to stretch my $ as much as I can.

Typo in the title of this thread

Shouldn't it read......"Buy, buy Amazon"?

Not too many years ago if a stock approached $100 it would split, usually 2 for 1. Times have sure changed. Rumor is Amazon is going to split 20 to 1. You heard it here first!

Last of my orders from Amazon arrived today, 142 orders in past 90 days, according to their records. Seems like an addiction to me? Hopefully I won't need anything I can not get locally......now to get a beer and stop shopping.

I've been down your boat black hole, and it can get pricey. 316L Stainless steel isn't required for every fitting. Heck, bailing wire sometimes fits the bill.
YMMV

It definitely didn't include refilling your propane tanks.

Jim,
No one is bad mouthing your choice, just voicing their own.
You can buy beer on Amazon!
Strongest beer I have ever had, way, way better than Coors.
11% if I recall correctly. Used to get it at Old Chicago, kind of scarce now.

Yah, no kidding. The first Loran C that I bought was $1,200, then a backup one a few years later $400. Never used it, came to the decision in the 2000s that there was only one place to put an unused Loran C, garbage can.

The shift towards finding stuff from projects on ebay to Amazon was very subtle until one day I realized that I wasn't even bothering to look on ebay any more.

?? That's not beer; that's ingredients for brewing beer. Which is fine, if that's your thing. I never got into brewing real beer, just malt syrup and sugar. It was pretty bad, but cheap. Real brewing takes time and expertise (a friend does it), but me, I'm happy with craft beers/ales in bottles and cans, profiting from someone else's expertise.

Coors is not beer.
I have brewed my own from canned malt, yeast, sugar and water, but it's too much trouble.
Several months after I quit brewing ( washing bottles mostly ), I found a dozen 750 ml. bottles under a table in the living room.

We live 45 miles from Rochester with only one small Ace Hardware and a small NAPA halfway between. Even in Rochester I spend too much time driving only to find what I'm looking for is $10 or more than Amazon or I can't find the item. Amazon works for those in rural areas.

We also use Prime music and video quite a bit. For us Prime membership makes sense.

OTOH, we've refused to go to Walmart or Sams for a few decades. We have friends who work at Walmart and their pay is horrible. Another friend started at Costco and the starting pay was above the pay my friend at Walmart makes after over 20 years. He now makes $4 an hour more at Costco.

TETO!

Perry

Back in the late 1970's Jimmy Carter's administration changed the federal rules to allow home brewing. Illegal up until then. I got into it then, and continued the hobby for years. And I quit for the same reasons you did..........too much time spent washing bottles, and good craft beers came along in droves.

Cheers!

Back in the pre-historic days of my ill-spent college experience, Coors was the hot item. Some of my friends even wasted their vacations driving back East with cases of the stuff (this is before Coors was national). I tasted it once and have never been tempted to swallow another sip.
