Camping at last!

First trip since the end of October, 2019.

it was touch and go as to whether we'd get to go as parks here just opened June 1st, but the park is open and supposedly full (but not really as they wouldn't allow any new reservations for yurts and there appear to be quite a few empty sites, probably last minute cancellations or no-shows.)

I brought my ebike and rode around all the circles: not a single egg to be seen except for mine! Maybe that will change.

We spoke to the ranger yesterday who said they were cleaning restrooms and showers twice daily but usage of them is down (fewer tent campers). The one who checked us in wore a mask but the one we talked to said if asked they tell people if you have a reservation just print it out and put it in your car and go to your site; we'll come around and verify later and give you a car tag. I haven't seen anyone in masks outside of the campground office.

There are signs on the trails about social distancing but I have yet to meet another person on the trails to the beach.

I got here Saturday and have already finished three books! (One I'd started earlier.)

Glad to hear you were able to get out and go camping
We had made reservations for a camping trip with my eldest daughter’s & her family at a Minnesota State Park for early July
Today we got notice that her campsite reservation has been canceled due to covid and we were being moved to a different site due to covid
Looks like it maybe a long dull Summer

We were worried about that when they first said half capacity at the park- but they did it that way by closing the less popular sites. Now it is supposedly full capacity.

Communications regarding the yurts was very confusing. They said no reservations for yurts. Then they said check in time was 4 PM instead of 2:30 so they could clean the yurts (which they said were not open.) Finally my friend called and was told existing reservations were being honored; no new ones.

My very first assumption was wrong!

They sound vicious. Do they attack?
