We travel with 3 brittanys, my breed of choice. I have had this breed my entire adult life. One reason we went with a 19 instead of a 5.0TA was so we could have a canopy on our pickup bed where the dogs ride, instead of transporting them inside the trailer or in the cab of the truck. Although they are in the trailer with us when we're there, they are crated in the back of the truck when we're not. This way I can leave the back and windows open when it's hot, and they stay nice and cool but are contained and safe. They are happy being managed this way, and so are we. We start them out early with crate training, and they enjoy their crate as their own space. We outfit each one with a nice pad, portable fan, and water. Of course since this is an extremely active breed, we usually camp in places where I can let them free run at least once a day. This system works for us, the dogs are happy, and our stuff doesn't get chewed up.

Tears? Turn in your man card. [emoji16]

I never shed a tear with movies, and if my wife tells you different, she lies. [emoji41]

I thought that might elicit some responses. My dogs are my soft spot. I've had to put a couple down over the years, If you say you don't shed a couple then you fib about other things too.

my daughter would refuse to read any book or watch any movie with a dog on the cover because the dog always dies in the end, and it would break her heart.

Okay, okay, I have had a weak moment (or five) . Like you, I have taken two dogs to their last vet appointment, a tough time.

Dogs most definitely like being trained. They may not realize it, but it actually gives them more freedom. I am willing to take Jasper just about anywhere he is allowed without concern with his behaviour. My wife can't say the same thing about me. [emoji41]

Pretty much all of the hundreds of fibreglass trailer owners I have met, have met Jasper too.

its funny, Maggie the lab was never a barker. she'll WOOF! once when she wants our attention, like there's someone in the driveway. if we don't come in a minute, she'll WOOOF! again louder.
