Gumption trap

I have always been an Apple person, just received a new MacBook Air lap top. It has no USB ports, just 2 of the new micro USB ports. My turbotax came with a CD. In order to attach my cd drive to these new ports, I need an adapter, another 3 days wait for the USB to micro USB to be delivered.....They call this progress. My old Apple is too old and my new Apple is too new-----gumption trap 101.

I did my taxes a couple of weeks ago, using the online TurboTax. Had everything ready.. all the paperwork, etc. took about 45 minutes.

I haven't used TurboTax on a CD for more than a half-dozen years. I'd worry the CD is out of date! IF it's like software, it typically is. Or they'll have you install the CD, THEN go out to the website and install updates. Bah...

Just like cars, I guess. If no progress was made, we'd all be driving Model Ts and there would be lots of spare parts.
Remember ash trays?

I'm quite sure you could just download the software from Turbotax and use the CD as a coaster.

That was the challenge that Charles Tandy had when he released the TRS home computer. Having grown up with the early cars where you had to be both a mechanic and driver. He assumed that everyone would have to be a programmer. He had no idea that the future lay in apps where someone else would write programs.
