Getting a cap(topper) on the truck bed. Noelia thinks we need more room to carry stuff, so the place if business offered to rent a topper for $95/week. We will see how well this pans out..... Pictures to follow....

You should probably rent for nine or ten weeks before deciding whether to buy it.

Hello Jim.
Personally I could not live without a cartopper.More secure storage, protection from the rain and snow.Of course we pack too much stuff.Looks good on your truck, might benefit from a waxjob and it would look like new.Price is sure good if your are thinking about buying it.
Just my humble opinion.Take care, looking forward to Osooyos.
Allan.

Actually, that's not a bad price. I just bought a brand-new Leer from my full-size short bed truck. Five days after I ordered it they jumped the price 10% to all new orders. The tax, installation and out the door was just under $2500.00, the cap is equal to the top of the truck, the paint exactly matches the truck. I remember when I put one on my Ranger and it was $680.

Every truck I have owned has had a box topper. Back in my 20's, my Nissan had one, I slept in that thing so many times.

Through three trucks and two trailers, I've always had a topper. All had the "windoors" on the sides which are so much better than the fixed, or sliding windows. Nothing in the bed of the truck that can't be reached from the outside. Wouldn't be without one..

I too have always had toppers on my trucks. Back in 1980, when there was little to choose from. I built a wedge roofline over 2x4s for a wood rack over the roof, & ends for clips to hold 12' surf rods! Only old photts of it, I need to scan someday. Gaco neoprene painted roof.
Can look around at the bigger topper places. I walked into a 4 month old, returned used one $600 off. Insulated, silver(reflect heat, if dogs back there) Color also kinda go with everything. It's been on 3 Tacos now. Another reason I don't go to Gen III Tacos.

We opted for a flush mount tanno (sp) cover that locks and keeps the truck bed dry in bad weather and added an adjustable rack from Adarac in North Dakota that works great with the flush bed cover. That way we can haul our fishing Kayak or a clamshell carrier to carry lightweight seldom used items like all my wife’s extra clothes
