Have Gatorade powder somewhere in the basement which is ancient. Had enough powdered eggs in the Army to last a lifetime.

What could be more convenient than whole eggs? Don't have to carry or add water to them. Package is easy to store, open and dispose of ( organic too ). Extremely versatile.

We spent a week in the BWCA of Northern Minnesota moose hunting ( Canoe Trip)
All the food we brought with us was dehydrated
We made homemade dehydrated soups , stews , snacks ,breakfasts , jerky , fruit , chili ,etc and put them in seal a meal bags
Jim : you can make a great breakfast omelet with powdered eggs , powdered milk , dried onions , peppers , potatoes , powdered cheese .
Something to try as long as your trapped at home
Right now we have a couple pork shoulders ( 16 lbs ) brining in apple cider so they can go in our smoker later this week and then made into pulled pork
Makes a great , easy , fast camping supper

Jim,
I still backpack so would love a report on those powdered eggs.
With powdered eggs, powdered potatoes, dried vegetables and powdered milk I envision a couple of good meals. Just add fresh trout...

I’m sure with a 21’ you can find room for fresh eggs. The 17 not so much

you can break a few eggs into tupperware containers...you can even freeze them if you are doing a scramble or french toast.

I still plan on getting fresh, but having spares is nice. Besides, what do you think Mickie D's serves? powdered eggs taste pretty good when traveling. I'd rather have more room for beer than eggs. But I'll try them and see if we like them...

That's why you are not suppose to eat there!
I agree on the beer, but given that choice, I would go without food. Maybe I'll just fry up some nice looking dirt.

Eggs & more
The refrigerator is FULL including a dozen eggs, the wine and ice is in the cooler and we'll be out of here in 30 min, flagstaff this afternoon for 5 weeks in our 17 and get away from the smoke and heat.

Have a wonderful time, AzJack, and travel safely. I am heading to San Diego with the trailer (to my son's house) in two weeks, for the duration of July. The littles will enjoy "camping" even if it's only in the driveway! If it's still hot when I get home, I may head to Tahoe for a week or two.

Hi Jack,
Have a great time. As the younger folks say “totes jelly”. Or “totally jealous” for old timers like me. ( not you). Yesterday I had coffee with a couple former city engineers. They mentioned taking a flight to Texas from our home town year ago. They flew Ozark. I had completely forgotten that one.

I'd like to "take a powder" too. Working on getting some cataract surgery, though.

I remember about powdered foods. When I got back to the world after a year, my first taste of fresh whole milk about knocked me out. Liking the powdered solution for those of us with a crappy fridge, though.

How our kitchens are prepped (even the 17B!) depends on our individual reasons for Escaping, and motivation is key. If I were an avid hiker who utilized the Escape mostly on weekends and holidays, I'd probably appreciate powdered eggs. Because I'm a gourmet enthusiast and celiac who plans to spend weeks if not months on the road, I upsized to the 4 cubic foot refrigerator, giving up valuable storage space in my 17B so I could enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables, and eggs. I've already stocked my trailer with gluten-free staples, including flours and a variety of spices. If food trucks can manage it, why can’t I?
